The West Fork of the Stones River is 39 miles long and flows through Rutherford and Wilson Counties in Tennessee. The fork of the river originates near Midland, TN and flows north to meet the Middle Fork of the Stones River in Mufreesboro before meeting the East Fork near Smyrna at the J. Percy Priest Lake impoundment. Stones River National Battlefield, a site of the infamous Civil War, sits on the West Fork’s banks in Murfreesboro and is a popular site for history buffs and visitors.
