Lynx rufus

Conservation Status

  • Bobcats are similar in size to a cocker spaniel. They are rarely seen but live in many habitats, often in close proximity to humans.
  • Bobcats hunt small mammals, birds, insects, and occasionally deer.
  • Bobcats are crepuscular, most active in the twilight hours of dawn and dusk.
  • If you see four-toed animal tracks without claw marks, they were likely made by a cat. Bobcat tracks are about 2 inches long. Domestic cat tracks aren’t more than 1-1.5 inches.
